These Miniatures, inspired in the traditional Japanese art of Sampuru, –from the English word “sample”– are accurate three-dimensional and realistic representations of a restaurant’s finished dishes as a way to show foreigners who don’t speak or read Japanese, what’s on the menu of a particular food joint.
We tried to make these food sculptures as small as possible. The scale used was 1:12.
Dishware was created by modeling an original piece out of clay and then making exact copies by using silicone molds and resin casting.
Polymer clay, acrylic paint, epoxy resin and PVC.
